Take black and white photos and turn them into one of a kind mixed media paintings. Using wooden "canvases", beeswax, paint and other media we'll transform your favorite photos into litte works of art. We'll talk about composition, combining images and adding details in addition to the beeswax collaging method.

These little paintings offer such richness and depth and the potential to personalize any image. The ethereal quality of the beeswax combined with rich imagery is a lovely combination that will take your photos to the next level.

Course Materials List/Kit Fee ($15, due to Courtney day of workshop):

Students are welcome to bring a few black and white PHOTOCOPIES (not ink jet prints and not color photocopies or B&W copies on a color machine) with images around 3 - 4" if they want to use your own work. Otherwise Courtney will provide lots of images to combine! All levels welcome!

About Courtney:

Courtney Cerruti is a Maker Extraordinaire... Courtney sees the potential in the discarded, history in the mundane and art in the everyday. She saves everything, makes anything and teaches from a place of passion and authenticity. For her, books are objects to be read and re-purposed, candy wrappers are paper flower petals, toilet paper tubes are a menagerie of animals.
She teaches all over the SF Bay, has taught abroad, worked as a window and display designer for Anthropologie and now creates art for weddings and events in addition to teaching and painting. Find out more on her website
